ALL-STATE Honors earned by BC musicians Minji Kim, Uni Kim, Schuyler Montgomery

Congratulations to Minji, Uni, and Schuyler!!
Out of about 2000 students throughout California, the top 250 singers were selected to be a part of All-State Men's, Women's and Mixed choirs. Uni Kim ('16) and Minji Kim ('18) were selected as a member of the All-State Women's Choir. They will be performing at the California All-State Music Education Conference on February 13 in San Jose, under the direction of Dr. Deanne Joseph.
BCHS 11th grade trumpet player, Schuyler Montgomery, was selected to the All-State Band, for the 5th year in a row!  From among 2,400 applicants throughout California who submitted audition recordings, Schuyler was selected as a member of the Wind Symphony, the top All-State Concert Band. "The music is extremely difficult," said Schuyler, "but I like the challenge and the experience of  meeting and playing with so many great musicians from other schools."

The Wind Symphony will perform a concert on February 13 at the All-State Music Education Conference in San Jose, and will be performing the world premier of David Maslanka's piece entitled, "California." The ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Mallory Thompson from Northwestern University.
