Dear BCS Community,
I am honored to become a Warrior and to join the
70-year history, culture and tradition of serving youth and families for
Christ! You can be proud of that history, and you should be gratified about the
countless young people BCS has blessed for time and eternity.
We now have the privilege and responsibility to chart a bold
new course for the future. We have some challenges, but I believe God is bigger
than any obstacle facing us (Romans 8:31). We need to come together as a
community to “pray as if everything depended upon God and to work as if
everything depended upon us” (Augustine).
I believe the nature, character and works of God are most
excellent, so as a Christian school, we should reflect His excellence in every
thing we do. I believe the formula to achieve that is A3 =
Academics, Arts & Athletics. We must strive for optimal excellence in each
of these critical areas, while steeping all of them in a biblical worldview for
the glory of Christ.
To advance our bright future, we’ll need to utilize those
skills we teach our students: critical and creative thinking, innovation,
flexibility, problem solving and forward thinking. Let’s get those creative
juices flowing in an organized and communal way to come up with the best short,
mid and long-term strategies to advance our core mission.
Over the next few weeks, I will be working closely with the
Board and the entire BCS team to fully understand the issues and to take actions
to address our most immediate needs. I look forward to meeting all of you at a
town hall meeting in the very near future, but please call, email or visit me
with any questions or comments you may have in the meantime.
I am energized by the journey ahead of us, and I trust the Lord
to guide and bless us on this journey (Proverbs 16:3). I want to thank the
Board and the Search Committee for working diligently on your behalf. I also want to thank all the prayer warriors
for standing in the gap for BCS. Most of all, I wish to thank the Lord for the
opportunity to serve BCS on its path to a bright and vibrant future!
Your fellow servant in Christ,
Dr. John Moran

you and not harm you. Plans for a hope
and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
